Rough spots on refinished floors. Use 150 grit paper if the finish isn t completely worn through or if the floor is finished with oil. Pick at least two test areas on the floor. The rough patches are random spots around the floor and are not necessarily where the transition between wet dry was. Before you apply stain to the floor clean the sanded area thoroughly with tack cloth. The coarser paper will cut back the finish more efficiently.
