Rawze ceramic plungers. Cummins has a rebuild kit there is a two plunger and three plunger pump the kit will work on either. This includes a lot of cm2350 engines. 2011 to 2012 pumps had ceramic plungers. The ceramic plungers fail and so are the rollers.
I just replaced my 3 cylinder with the new 2 cylinder. Yet they left the ceramic plungers of instant engine death in the pump when they did the update. If your engine or fuel pump was built before june of 2013 it had ceramic plungers from the factory. This includes a lot of cm2350 engines.
Mr hagg and others here are stating the life expectancy on these pumps is roughly 300 000 to 400 000 miles. 08 22 2019 08 22 2019 rawze wrote. Many of the 2 piston pumps had ceramic plungers. My 3 cylinder was still operating perfectly but had started to leak a bit of fuel from the weep hole in the gear pump which according to quickserve means the internal seal between the fuel pump and gear pump has failed i took it off the truck and popped the head off and it was perfect inside ceramic plungers cam and rollers.
I wonder if anyone was able to save the engine after the ceramic plungers busted its at kenworth dealer in cheyenne wy they want 7 hours at 175 drop the pan check bearing 1 and 4 and cut the filters i can do that my self im having it towed home if there is damage i will tow it to for inframe. Sounds fine to me. That is only partially true. 2013 came with updated parts.
What is your oil change interval and what is your typical fuel mileage.
